This photo has a light hearted, child-like, joyful mood. If the color was changed to blue or green it would have a less girly touch. The different shades of pink support the fact that the little girl is wearing a tiara. When you crop the picture to just the child's face smiling you lose the narrative that suggests that she gets what she wants, due to the visual that her whole room is decked in pink.
